Perhaps the best among them was Jaidynn Askins, who scored 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Askins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimora Currie, who scored 11 points along with six assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, McNairy Central came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to Jackson North Side for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-13 win at home. Given McNairy Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Jackson North Side is ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jackson South Side pushed their record up to 19-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.7 points. As for McNairy Central, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Everything came up roses for Jackson South Side against McNairy Central in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 66-37 victory. With Jackson South Side ahead 41-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.
