Baseball Recap: Pojoaque Valley Find Success

Pojoaque Valley took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Portales, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Elks/Elkettes narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Rams 7-6. Seven seems to be a good number for the Elks/Elkettes as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Noah Torres, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since March 6th.

The win made it two in a row for Pojoaque Valley and bumps their season record up to 4-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Portales, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Pojoaque Valley has already played their next game, a 19-8 defeat against Moriarty on the 2nd. As for Portales, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Cobre on the 3rd.
