South Yosemite recap November 13, 2013
Ridgeview moved up to 402 from 439 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in South Yosemite. The Wolf Pack climbed the ranks as a result of beating Golden Valley 55-14.
Ridgeview took down the Bulldogs 55-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Tyler Watters provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Golden Valley fell to Dennis Manning's team. He completed 8 passes for 109 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 92 yards. Watters' favorite target this week was Jachi Harrell, who caught 3 passes for 75 yards.
Kenneth Martinez was a key player and the best on defense this week as South topped Mira Monte. The 5-foot-9 senior pulled down 1 interception.
Johnnie Dirden was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 108 yards on 7 carries as the Rebels fell to the Wolf Pack. Martinez also contributed to the rushing game with 60 yards on the ground.
Golden Valley's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Watters has thrown for 1,019 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Harrell has 25 catches for 390 yards.
