Baseball Recap: South River Beats Woodbridge for Their Sixth Straight Victory

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but South River ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Woodbridge Barrons 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on six straight.

Noah Borrero was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

South River's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Woodbridge, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5.

South River and Woodbridge should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Rams will take on Princeton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (113 vs. 253). Meanwhile, Woodbridge (ranked 21st) will meet Metuchen (ranked 100th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Barrons 3.6, the Bulldogs 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
