Basketball Recap: Richland Comes Up Short

Richland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 56-42 bruising from the Central Cambria Red Devils. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-66 back in December of 2024.

Central Cambria's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John Brouse, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Brouse has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grady Snyder, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Richland's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Central Cambria, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Richland will square off against Somerset at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Richland is facing Somerset at the right time seeing as Somerset is stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Central Cambria, they will face off against Greater Johnstown at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Greater Johnstown will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something Central Cambria surely won't give up without a fight.
