 With a playoff game on the line, Grantsville rose to the challenge  on Thursday. Everything went their way against the South Summit Wildcats as they made off with  a  13-1 win. Considering Grantsville has won 11 matches by more than five  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Kyle Brimhall made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits (and only one walk). Brimhall has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. Brimhall was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
 In other pitching news,  Mason Butler looked comfortable as he  tossed  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 Back at the plate,  Brett Darrow was a standout: he scored two  runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Krue Warren, who  went 1-for-3 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 On South Summit's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Hunter Bednarik, who  went 1-for-1 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Grantsville's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for South Summit,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-21.
 Grantsville will have a chance to go back-to-back against South Summit: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 1:00  p.m.  on Friday.
