Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Leopards vs. Harding Raiders

The Liberty Leopards will challenge the Harding Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Liberty lost 23-3 to LaBrae on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Harding, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let Boardman get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted against the Spartans since May 1, 2019.

Gummy Hart made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Harding is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. Hart was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Hart wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bryttain Fuller, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Harding's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 9-6. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Liberty might still be hurting after the 11-4 loss they got from Harding in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Leopards avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
