Taylor hasn't had much luck against LBJ Austin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Ducks will look to defend their home field against the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
LBJ Austin will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Taylor extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Ducks took their game with ease, bagging a 46-12 win over Eastside Early College.

It was another big night for Eric Walker Ii, who rushed for 202 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 104.4 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Caldwell, who rushed for 52 yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Taylor was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Meanwhile, LBJ Austin was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Northeast Early College 71-7. The victory continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won nine in a row.
Taylor better keep an eye on Marquis Murry II. He was instrumental in LBJ Austin's win, rushing for 100 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. Murry II is becoming a predictor of the Jaguars' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Jayelen House was another key player, throwing for 269 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes.
LBJ Austin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Javarlyn Smith and Trace Lamar. Smith got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The win got Taylor back to even at 4-4. As for LBJ Austin, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Taylor has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 200.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like LBJ Austin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 161.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Taylor was dealt a bruising 46-14 loss at the hands of LBJ Austin in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Ducks, Ali Scott (who rushed for 122 yards and one score on only seven carries, and also threw for 130 yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
