Baseball Recap: Stroudsburg Victorious

After losing to Emmaus the last time they met, Stroudsburg decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Mountaineers walked away with a 6-2 win over the Hornets on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Mountaineers have beaten the Hornets on their field since April 18, 2016.

Ryan Pacitti was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Stroudsburg is undefeated when Pacitti posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Anthony Knight, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Stroudsburg now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Emmaus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Stroudsburg will welcome Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hurricanes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Mountaineers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Emmaus, they are taking a road trip to take on Pocono Mountain East at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
