Baseball Game Preview: Trigg County Wildcats vs. Stewart County Rebels

The Trigg County Wildcats will challenge the Stewart County Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Trigg County's offense. They fell 5-0 to Webster County on Tuesday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grayson McKee was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stewart County). Everything went their way against West Carroll on Tuesday as Stewart County made off with a 15-5 win. While the Rebels didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Stewart County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. Trigg County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
