Baseball Recap: Metea Valley Takes a Loss

Metea Valley managed to slip by Wheaton North the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs came up short against the Falcons on Friday, falling 16-3. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Connor Lavery made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Owen Goeb, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Metea Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Wheaton North, their record now sits at 4-6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Metea Valley will welcome Westminster Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wheaton North, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Charles East at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st.
