Lawton hadn't done well against Coloma recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Blue Devils won by a set and slipped past the Comets 3-2. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Lawton's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-2-1. As for Coloma, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2-1.

Looking ahead, Lawton will square off against Martin at 6:30 p.m. on September 4. As for Coloma, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Saugatuck at 6:30 p.m. on September 9.
