Softball Recap: Galena Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Galena hadn't done well against Carson recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Grizzlies walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Senators. Winning may never get old, but the Grizzlies sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Ava Greene spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kaylee Fast was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Snyder, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Galena's record is now 7-11-1. As for Carson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7-1.

Galena will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Senators: the pair will be back at it again later today.
