Cairo has gone a perfect 9-0 against Dougherty recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Syrupmakers are taking a road trip to face off against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Cairo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.

Cairo will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals last Saturday, then bounced right back against Westover last Tuesday. The Syrupmakers never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Edward Barrios was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten goals the game before, Dougherty was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to Bainbridge. The defeat continues a trend for Dougherty in their meetings with Bainbridge: they've now lost six in a row.

The win got Cairo back to even at 2-2. As for Dougherty, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Cairo got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Dougherty by a conclusive 4-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Syrupmakers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
