Softball Recap: Segerstrom's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Segerstrom entered their tilt with Ocean View on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Seahawks 12-1. With that win, the Jaguars brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Alyssa Razo and Samantha Elizalde dominated on the mound. Razo tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Elizalde pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Razo has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jaden Fraser was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Razo, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Segerstrom always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ocean View only posted an OBP of .333.

Segerstrom's record is now 10-7. As for Ocean View, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Segerstrom will venture away from home to face off against Kennedy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars are facing the Fighting Irish at the right time seeing as the Fighting Irish are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Ocean View, they will head out on the road to take on Garden Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
