Volleyball Recap: Kassy Lopez and Mia Wenzel Secure Win for Hall

Hall posted their closest victory since October 22, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Newman Central Catholic Comets, sneaking past 2-1. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Hall had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-18, 25-19.

Leading Hall to victory were Mia Wenzel and Kassy Lopez. Wenzel had 11 digs and five aces, while Lopez had nine digs. Those nine digs gave Lopez a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Hall was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Hall's record now sits at 5-14. As for Newman Central Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Hall will challenge Streator at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Newman Central Catholic, they will square off against Mercer County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
