Softball Recap: Perth Amboy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Perth Amboy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Carteret Ramblers on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their two-run performance the match before.

Jaidy Rodriguez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiarelys Santiago, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.

Perth Amboy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carteret only posted a batting average of .250.

The win got Perth Amboy back to even at 1-1. As for Carteret, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perth Amboy will venture away from home to challenge Piscataway at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Carteret, they will head out to face off against South River at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
