Football Game Preview: Valley View Cougars vs. Wyoming Valley West Spartans

The Valley View Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Wyoming Valley West Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Valley View is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Delaware Valley on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cougars had to suffer through a 41-0 loss at the hands of the Warriors. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Wyoming Valley West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against Wilkes-Barre, falling 49-0. The shutout was out of character for the Spartans seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Wyoming Valley West's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Valley View, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Everything went Valley View's way against Wyoming Valley West when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Valley View made off with a 35-10 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
