Baseball Recap: Pope John Paul II's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Pope John Paul II had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Montgomery Bell Academy Big Red by a score of 7-4 on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Big Red on Tuesday, they had to take a 11-1 defeat.

Brayden Dyer tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Pope John Paul II saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Kiracofe, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Kiracofe a new career-high. Another was Ryan Ruby, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
