Recap: St. Paul Indians vs. Humboldt Cubs
The St. Paul Indians suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Humboldt, falling 53-26. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. Paul in their matchups with Humboldt: they've now lost four in a row.
Colden Cook was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and five steals for Humboldt. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cook has scored all season. Sam Hull was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
St. Paul's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.7 points per game. As for Humboldt, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Paul and Oswego will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Oswego is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Humboldt, they will head out on the road to challenge Erie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
