Basketball Game Preview: South Forsyth War Eagles vs. North Gwinnett Bulldogs

The South Forsyth War Eagles will take on the North Gwinnett Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Forsyth knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully North Gwinnett likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, South Forsyth was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 78-72 to Furtah Prep. While losing is never fun, the War Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Falcons are ranked 112th).

North Gwinnett fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They wrapped up 2024 with a 61-42 win over Monroe Area. That looming 61-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

South Forsyth's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for North Gwinnett, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

South Forsyth came up short against North Gwinnett in their previous matchup back in January, falling 66-60. Can South Forsyth avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
