Basketball Recap: Port Allen Triumphs

On Wednesday, the Port Allen Pelicans beat the GEO Next Generation Tigers 55-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pelicans.

GEO Next Generation's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dwight Pinkney, who posted 13 points. Pinkney is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 57% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Brooks, who put up nine points and seven boards.

The victory got Port Allen back to even at 18-18. As for GEO Next Generation, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-11.

Port Allen has already played their next game, a 74-56 defeat against Madison Prep Academy on the 20th. As for GEO Next Generation, they will take on D'Arbonne Woods on February 28th. One thing working in D'Arbonne Woods' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.
