Softball Recap: King's Fork Comes Up Short

King's Fork came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Nansemond River Warriors, falling 18-5. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 19-1 to the Warriors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

King's Fork moved to 5-3-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Nansemond River, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-2.

King's Fork will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Heritage at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st. As for Nansemond River, they will square off against Lakeland at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
