Softball Recap: New Hampton School Takes Down Ranked Proctor Academy

New Hampton School faced Proctor Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Huskies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-13 victory over the Hornets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-6 back in April.

The team relied heavily on Avery Lucier, who fired off three home runs, five runs, and five RBI while going 4-for-4. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaylah O'Connor, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double.

New Hampton School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

New Hampton School now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Proctor Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.

Coincidentally, New Hampton School and Proctor Academy will both be playing Kimball Union Academy the next time they take the field. The Hornets will head out to face the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Huskies will host them at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
