Volleyball Recap: Riverview Sharks vs. King Lions
Riverview took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They blew past the King Lions 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sharks also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2015.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Riverview was: they took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-13, 25-7.
Their offense was headlined by Morgan Cook and Brooe Schoening, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Cloee Myers and her 12 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.
King's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverview will host Sickles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, King and Morgan will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on September 9.
