It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Eastlake ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Parkland Matadors. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Matadors: they've now won nine in a row.
Eastlake got a great performance from Aydenn Estrada as she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Estrada has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Gabriella Martinez and Samantha Ponce did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Ponce scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
