Baseball Recap: Port Gibson Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Port Gibson and Magee squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Port Gibson had to settle for second. They fell 10-5 to the Trojans. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Waves in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost five in a row.

Nathan Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs. Port Gibson is 4-1 when Jones posts two or more runs, but 7-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Raphael Neal, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Port Gibson's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Magee, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-9.

As of now, neither Port Gibson nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
