Fairfax is 9-1 against West Springfield since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Fairfax Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the West Springfield Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Fairfax has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 29.

Last Friday, Fairfax came up short against Alexandria City and fell 45-36.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gavin Bermudez, who posted nine points. Cam Yingling was another key player, putting up six points in addition to 11 rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, West Springfield posted their closest win since December 20, 2024 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Lake Braddock 67-65. The win was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Bruins are ranked 113th).

West Springfield is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Fairfax, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
