Softball Recap: West Wendover Drops Season-High Score on Silver Stage

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Wendover). They came out on top against the Silver Stage Nighthawks by a score of 30-26 on Saturday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 22-12 victory on Saturday.

Brisieda Haro was a standout: she went 5-for-6 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Yaretzi Saucedo was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and four RBI.

Haro wasn't the only one making solid contact: West Wendover kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 27 hits. That's a new trend for the Wolverines: they were averaging 4.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 14.

The victory made it two in a row for West Wendover and bumps their season record up to 6-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.0 runs over those games. As for Silver Stage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.
