Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Kalama's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

If La Center wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Kalama, they should've done a better job of containing Hannah Johnson. The Kalama Chinooks breezed by the La Center Wildcats to the tune of 57-22 on Tuesday thanks in part to Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Bridgette Hollifield, who posted six points and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Kalama has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for La Center, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kalama has already played their next matchup (against Castle Rock), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. La Center will square off against Fort Vancouver at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. La Center is facing Fort Vancouver at the right time seeing as Fort Vancouver is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
