Lake Country Lutheran won the last time they faced Living Word Lutheran and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lightning blew past the Timberwolves 21-6.

Ava Budnik made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Budnik was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Eden Mueller and Kierstyn Black did most of the damage at the plate: Mueller scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Black went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Katelyn Meulendyke was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

The win got Lake Country Lutheran back to even at 1-1. As for Living Word Lutheran, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Lake Country Lutheran didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-0 defeat against Brookfield Academy on the 10th. As for Living Word Lutheran, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 16-1 loss against Luther Prep on the 10th.
