Basketball Recap: Jared Haskiell Key Part of Team Effort in Rams Win

After losing to Frankfort the last time they met, Southern decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Southern Rams came out on top against the Frankfort Falcons by a score of 69-59 on Wednesday.

Southern got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jared Haskiell out in front who went 5-for-9 on his way to 22 points. Haskiell's evening made it 17 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Upole, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 23 points.

Southern is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Frankfort, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern will challenge Tucker County at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Southern's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Frankfort, they will square off against Northern Garrett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
