Volleyball Recap: Blountstown Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Blountstown had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 3-1 to the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers on Tuesday. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Buccaneers when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Blountstown had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 22-25, 25-18.

When it comes to explaining why Blountstown lost, don't look at Eden Mallory. Despite the final result, she had 25 digs and six assists. Mallory is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 19 or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Blountstown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Florida State University High School on the 21st. As for North Bay Haven Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Bay on the 21st.
