Basketball Recap: Newcastle Finds Playoff Glory Versus Altus

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Newcastle walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Altus Bulldogs 73-30. The Racers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Newcastle found their leader in sophomore Amara King, who shot 80% from the field to rack up 22 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. King has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Kalani Kindred was another key player, going 5-for-7 on her way to 12 points and four steals.

The win (which was Newcastle's 21st in a row) raised their record to 25-2. As for Altus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.
