Madison-Ridgeland Academy had won eight straight games and Erick Dampier, Jr. did his part to make it nine on Friday. The Patriots enjoyed a cozy 66-48 win over the Oxford Yellow Jackets with plenty of help from Dampier, Jr., who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds. His big performance that afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Another player making a difference was Evan Carr, who posted 12 points and five assists. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 46.2% three-point shooting accuracy.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Oxford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Madison-Ridgeland Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Jackson Academy at 7:45 p.m. As for Oxford, they are taking a road trip to square off against Hoover at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets will be up against the Buccaneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.67 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
