Football Recap: DeKalb Comes Up Short

DeKalb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt] 92-20. The Tigers lost against Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt] in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 42-0 score last time.

Although DeKalb took the loss, they still got scores from Nolan Huffman, Kyle Funk, and Blake Norton.

DeKalb's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt], the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. DeKalb will challenge rival South Holt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt] is set to square off against their familiar foe East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
