Basketball Recap: Ola Comes Up Short

Ola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hampton Hornets. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Hampton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Surayyah Aleem, who posted 19 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayana Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards.

Ola's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Hampton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Stockbridge the next time they take the court. Ola will head out to face Stockbridge at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Hampton will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
