League recap: 5A Region 1's Syracuse jumps in national rankings

5A Region 1 league recap: 5/29/12

Behind a 1-1 record over the past week, Syracuse made the biggest jump in the national rankings, all the way from 3497 to 3313. The Titans are currently No. 18 in the state of Utah, with an overall record of 16-10.

Davis currently leads the league with a 20-5 record overall and a 13-2 mark during league play. Syracuse is in second place, one game behind with a 12-3 record in league play.

The Darts' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 45 hits and 34 walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, Davis has allowed just 121 hits, while striking out 172 batters. Zac Fuller leads Davis with 74 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched.

The Darts' 104 hits this week were the most in the league, adding to their season total of 247, best of any team. Davis is led by Gage Cook, who has 30 hits this year.

The Darts' Cook led the league with 15 hits this week. His 30 hits for the year are third in the league, and he boasts a .330 batting average.



Fuller clubbed three home runs this week to lead the league. With five homers this season, he ranks first in the league.
