Basketball Recap: Hayfield Comes Up Short

Hayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms, falling 73-43. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Awesome Blossoms this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-46 back in January.

Hayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Blooming Prairie, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Coming up, Hayfield will take on Southland at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Southland will roll in looking for their 27th straight victory, something Hayfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Blooming Prairie, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-57 win against Wabasha-Kellogg on the 15th.
