Baseball Recap: Penn Manor Comes Up Short

Penn Manor had lost seven straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-9 to make it eight. They fell just short of the Central York Panthers by a score of 8-7. The Comets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Roderyck Rafael made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ethan Transue, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Central York, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 21, 2025.

On Central York's side, Luke Burch was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Bennett Whitcomb was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Penn Manor will head out to square off against Cedar Crest at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Central York, they will venture away from home to face off against Red Land at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
