Volleyball Recap: Eman Comes Up Short

Eman lost 3-0 to the Central Christian Academy Chargers on Monday.

While Eman had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Eman saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zeynep Erdogan had eight kills, eight digs, and seven aces. Another player making a difference was Maryam Abdelwahab, who had six kills and two aces.

Eman's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Central Christian Academy, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eman will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on October 7. As for Central Christian Academy, they will face off against Irvington Preparatory Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
