Soccer Recap: Groton-Dunstable Extends Winning Streak to Two

Groton-Dunstable took a three-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Shawsheen Valley Tech, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Crusaders' defense stepped up to hand the Rams a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. That's two games straight that Groton-Dunstable have won by just one goal.

The win made it two in a row for Groton-Dunstable and bumps their season record up to 4-7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Shawsheen Valley Tech, they dropped their record down to 5-8-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Groton-Dunstable will square off against Bromfield at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bromfield's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Groton-Dunstable's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Shawsheen Valley Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dracut at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
