Soccer Game Preview: St. Genevieve vs. Linfield Christian

The St. Genevieve Valiants will be taking part in a tournament against the Linfield Christian Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

St. Genevieve's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past Upland 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Valiants.

Meanwhile, Linfield Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Linfield Christian who was credited with the victory.

St. Genevieve is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those six games. As for Linfield Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-3-1.
