McCreary Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Cumberland County on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Raiders' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Kase Spradlin was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

McCreary Central's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Cumberland County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.
