Softball Recap: Calhoun City Wildcats vs. Palmer Dragons        
        
		
            
 Calhoun City stacked  an  11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They never let the Palmer Dragons onto the board and left with  an   18-0  victory. Winning may never get old, but Calhoun City sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
  Madison Buckley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (she also only allowed one  walk). Buckley has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Buckley was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 4-for-4 with a  home run, three  runs,  and a  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Jenna Nichols, who  went 2-for-2 with a  home run, three  runs,  and a  triple. Another player making a difference was  Aimee Buckley, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-1.
 Calhoun City pushed their record up to 15-4-2 with that  win, which was their ninth straight  at home. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.9 runs per game. As for Palmer, they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-10.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhoun City will  take on Water Valley at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Calhoun City's pitching crew has only allowed two  runs per game  this season, so Water Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Palmer, they are on the road again  on Wednesday to play West Bolivar at 4:30  p.m.
