The New Holstein Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Brillion Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. New Holstein is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

While New Holstein's victory against Kiel wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Huskies won by a run and slipped past the Raiders 8-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Makya Pendleton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Jenna Horn was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Kourtney Karls also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Amaya Brooks and Jana O'Connell did most of the damage at the plate: Brooks went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while O'Connell went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases O'Connell has posted since back in May of 2024. Emma Schuh was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Brillion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sheboygan Falls only posted an OBP of .250.

Brillion's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. As for New Holstein, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. New Holstein hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Brillion struggles in that department as they've averaged .418. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
