Volleyball Recap: St. Mary's Pirates vs. Woodland Park Panthers

St. Mary came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Woodland Park Panthers, falling 3-0. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

St. Mary's was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Elizabeth Strub and Shane Carter, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Julia Clieves and her nine assists. Strub was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
