East Carter has gone 9-1 against Neelyville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. East Carter will host Neelyville at 4:30 p.m. The game will give East Carter their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Last Tuesday, East Carter came up short against Puxico and fell 9-4. The loss was the Redbirds' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Neelyville hadn't done well against Senath-Hornersville recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Neelyville never let Senath-Hornersville get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Zak Cowley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Cowley was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Newcomb, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Trevor Turner was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

The win got Neelyville back to even at 1-1. As for East Carter, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

East Carter took their victory against Neelyville when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. Will East Carter repeat their success, or does Neelyville has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
