Basketball Recap: Golden View Classical Academy Starts Season with Win on the Road

Golden View Classical Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 66-63 win over the Lyons Lions on Monday. For the Sentinels, this counts as revenge for the 62-53 victory the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Leading Golden View Classical Academy to victory were Jacob Walker and Luke Chronowski. Walker shot 47% from the field en route to 19 points and six rebounds, while Chronowski went 8-for-17 to rack up 21 points and three steals. That's the most points Chronowski has posted since back in January. George Hermanson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.

Despite the loss, Lyons still got an impressive performance from Zeke Paznokas, who scored 32 points and five rebounds. The game was Paznokas' third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jake Lacrosse, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.

Coming up, Golden View Classical Academy will take on Ascent Classical Academy in a tournament on Thursday. As for Lyons, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-40 win against Loveland Classical on the 2nd.
