Basketball Recap: Keontae Lewis and Mickelson Laguerre Secure Win for Crawford

Crawford lost to Santana back in November of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. Everything went the Crawford Colts' way against the Santana Sultans as the Crawford Colts made off with a 76-52 win. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Crawford was led to victory by Mickelson Laguerre and Keontae Lewis. Laguerre posted 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Lewis went 8 of 14 en route to 21 points. Laguerre is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Walker, who had 13 points.

Santana's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dain Diaz, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Jose Garcia was another key player, putting up ten points.

The victory made it two in a row for Crawford and bumps their season record up to 8-1. As for Santana, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Crawford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-15 win against Rock Academy on the 26th. As for Santana, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-56 defeat against Imperial on the 21st.
